Bon Secours offers competitive benefits for you and your family. 

medical plans
Health Insurance - We offer employees competitive medical benefit options including three Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans through Aetna (beginning Sept. 1, 2013) and prescription coverage through Express Scripts. Plans include coverage for in-network and out-of-network providers and in some local systems, access to Bon Secours facilities and providers, where you will receive the highest level of coverage and outstanding care.

Dental Insurance The MetLife Preferred Dentist Program is a Preferred Provider Organization, allowing you to choose an in-network or out-of-network dentist.  You receive the highest level of coverage when you use in-network providers, and more limited coverage when you use out-of-network providers.

Vision Insurance - UnitedHealthcare Vision covers eye exams, lenses (including contacts), and discounts for Refractive Eye Surgery (limited to specific providers) through two plan options:

  • Core - Basic coverage
  • Buy-Up - enhanced coverage at a higher premium

With either option, you receive the highest level of coverage if you use in-network providers.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) - Administered by ConnectYourCare, FSAs are a great way to save on out-of-pocket health and/or dependent care expenses.  We offer employees two plans:

  • The Healthcare FSA reimburses you for eligible out-of-pocket medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision care expenses.  You can access these funds through a Healthcare Payment Card or submit your claim online or via fax.
  • The Dependent Care FSA reimburses you for certain dependent care expenses (such as child care) necessary to enable you and your spouse to work, look for work, or attend school full time. 
  • Beginning September 1, 2013, Bon Secours will provide employees with Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).

Life Insurance is a valuable way to care for you and your family.  Coverage is through Prudential and includes:

  • Employee Basic Life equal to your base annual earnings at no cost
  • Employee Supplemental Life buy-up options in multiples of your base annual earnings
  • Spouse Life coverage up to $100,000
  • Dependent Child Life coverage for eligible dependents to age 26 in increments of $10,000, $15,000, or $25,000

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) provides added peace of mind for you and your loved ones.  Coverages is through Prudential and includes:

  • Employee Basic AD&D equal to your base annual earning at no cost
  • Employee or Family Supplemental AD&D buy-up options in multiples of your base annual earnings up to a maximum of $2.5 million

Disability - Another way we help you guard your earnings, Bon Secours offers full-time employees short and long term disability coverage through Prudential as follows:

  • Short Term Disability - Optional coverage paid by you, provides 60% of your weekly earnings, not to exceed $2,000 per week
  • Long Term Disability - 100% paid by Bon Secours, provides up to 70% of your monthly earnings, not to exceed $15,000 per month

You will receive detailed information in your New Hire package and during your 1st-day New Hire Orientation.

retirement savings plan
Bon Secours Health System offers a retirement plan that provides flexibility as you save for your future. The retirement plan, administered by VALIC, allows you to make pre-tax contributions to your plan account to increase your retirement income. Bon Secours also makes additional contributions. Your plan contributions are made via payroll deduction and held in a plan account established for you. You decide how much to contribute to the plan and how to invest your account savings. The value of your account depends on the amount of contributions you make, any contributions from your facility and investment performance.

We encourage you to participate in the plan, and use the available tools and resources to plan for your retirement.

paid time off
Vacation provided based upon your position.  A bank of time provided to you on an accrual (per pay check) and eligible after 90 days of continuous employment. Maximum carryover of one times your annual amount into the new fiscal year.

Personal Leave in the amount of 5 days provided on an accrual (per pay check) with no eligibility period. Time not used by end of fiscal year will roll to Care Leave bank.

Care Leave (sick) provided immediately. 14 days annually provided at the beginning of each fiscal year; your first year will be prorated. Maximum carryover is up to 800 hours/100 days.

Holidays - Eight paid holidays.
