Sister Mary Louise Moran to leave
Bon Secours
Marriottsville, Maryland, June 11, 2009 --
Sister Anne Lutz, Executive Vice
President for Sponsorship announced
today that Sister Mary Louise Moran
will leaving Bon Secours Health
System effective June 26, 2009, to
pursue another ministry opportunity.
Sr. Anne said, "While I am very
excited for Sister Mary Lou, I am
also sad to lose her leadership as a
Senior Vice President of Sponsorship
for Bon Secours Charity Health
System and until recently for Bon
Secours New York Health System and
Bon Secours St. Petersburg Health
System where her primary
responsibilities have been
sponsorship, governance, and
mission. She has been an integral
member of the BSHSI Executive
Council and worked closely with
BSHSI Executive Management Team in
strategic planning, leadership
development and negotiations with a
particular focus on the mission
interest of the Sisters of Bon
Secours."
Sister Mary Lou, who by the end of
1990s was the vice president of
mission at the Tri State Health
System, joined BSHSI in December
1999 just prior to the merger of the
Franciscan Health Partnership with
the Bon Secours Health System when
the Sisters of Charity of Saint
Elizabeth and BSHSI became the
co-sponsors of the Bon Secours
Charity Health System in New York.
Sister Mary Lou, a Sister of Charity
of Saint Elizabeth, brought
extensive experience in educational
and healthcare leadership and
organization, as well as, a depth of
understanding of sponsorship,
governance, mission and Catholic
social teachings.
Of her tenure at Bon Secours Health
System Sister Mary Lou has said,
“Sponsorship has been a wonderful
ministry for me. It is my hope that
my contribution matches, and on a
good day surpasses, the personal,
spiritual and ministry benefits that
I have derived over the past nine
and half years. I have enjoyed
working with and befriending
wonderful colleagues, and I will
have many happy memories of what has
been a most important and
significant part of my life’s
journey. It is now time for me to
move on towards new ministry
opportunities. I pray the Spirit
will provide a generous increase to
our collective efforts in the Gospel
measure, ‘pressed down and
overflowing.’
Sr. Anne also said, "Sr. Mary Lou’s
contributions to this ministry are
many. I will miss her counsel and
support, but I will especially miss
her friendship. Please join me in
celebrating Sr. Mary Lou’s time with
us and wish her every success." An
announcement related to her
successor will be forthcoming
shortly.
