CEO Appointed for Bon Secours
Charity Health System
Marriottsville, Maryland, February
2, 2009 – Terence O’Brien has been
appointed as chief executive officer
for Bon Secours Charity Health
System. O’Brien’s appointment comes
after an in-depth national search
for the position vacated as a result
of the departure of Dominick
Stanzione in June 2008. O’Brien will
began his leadership today, February
2, 2009, reporting directly to Bon
Secours Health System CEO Rich
Statuto.
O’Brien currently serves as the
Hospital’s Executive Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer, Lenox
Hill Hospital, a 650-bed, major
teaching hospital in New York City,
as well as the Administrative
Director of the Lenox Hill
Healthcare Network, an IPA of 750
affiliated physicians and five
affiliated hospitals.
O’Brien’s career spans over 37 years
and includes progressive
responsibility and leadership
positions in the areas of acute and
long-term care operations, finance,
strategy, physician relationships,
service line management, and managed
care. He has 15 years of experience
in Catholic health care including
St. Joseph Medical Center and St.
Vincent’s Medical Center, both in
New York.
O’Brien graduated from Cornell
University with an MPA, Hospital
Administration, and earned his
undergraduate degree from Georgetown
University in Washington, DC, with a
BSBA, Accounting.
