Janice Burnett Appointed Vice President
Operations-Finance
Marriottsville, Maryland, September
21, 2007 -- Bon Secours Health System (BSHSI) announced the appointment
of Janice Burnett as Vice President Operations – Finance. Burnett will
assist Bon Secours hospitals and the non-acute facilities with
coordination of local system financial results, budgets, three year
financial planning and capital projects. Financial analysis of local
systems’ service line performance, productivity, revenue cycle and other
operational performance indicators will be key parts of her role.
Burnett and her team will be available to local systems to assist in
turn-around plans and acquisition analysis. In addition, she will be
responsible for accounting operations such as system consolidations and
GAAP compliance.
Katherine Arbuckle, Chief Financial Officer for BSHSI stated, “I am
pleased we have recruited someone of Janice’s caliber. Her leadership
skills and experiences with large health care systems will enable her to
make significant contributions to this health ministry.”
Burnett comes to BSHSI with 19 years experience in health care finance,
most recently with Ascension Health, a national not-for-profit health
care system with 67 acute care hospitals in 20 states. In her role as
Senior Director Strategic Finance and Operations, she has been
responsible for health ministry coordination and consolidation as well
as System level long term financial planning, annual capital and
budgeting processes, benchmarking and financial analysis. Additional
responsibilities include month end reporting processes, analysis of
on-going operations, merger and acquisition recommendations, ministry
configuration recommendations and external debt planning. Prior to
Ascension, she held progressively more responsible positions with
Missouri Baptist Medical Center and its related physician clinic and
home care operations, a member of the Barnes Jewish Christian Health
System in St. Louis. Prior to her hospital finance career, Burnett
worked for Ernst & Young and served in the United States Air Force.
